iPhone 17 With Visor Camera Design Might Not Come After All

According to these leaks, Apple might abandon its usual square camera island for a new design similar to the visor-style camera seen on Pixel smartphones. These claims reportedly came from the supply chain, showing an iPhone 17 Pro prototype featuring this updated look. However, a fresh report from China by leakster InstantDigital suggests otherwise. According to this source, the final design will not adopt the visor-style camera. Instead, Apple is expected to stick with the familiar triangular camera setup seen on previous models. While the back design of the iPhone 17 and 17 Pro Max may still see some changes, the camera island is likely to remain consistent with earlier designs.

Speculation like this is common with leaks, and it’s always hard to say which details will turn out to be accurate. The source of this new rumor has a mixed track record. On one hand, they’ve successfully predicted features like the yellow iPhone 14, the frosted back glass on the iPhone 15 series, and several leaks about the Apple Watch Series 9 and M4 iPad Pros. On the other hand, there have been misses as well. It’s also worth noting that the iPhone 17 series is still far from its expected release date, which is likely to be September 2025. This leaves plenty of time for Apple to make design changes, so current rumors may not reflect the final product.

In addition to the camera rumors, there has been ongoing debate about the materials used in the iPhone 17 Pro series. Last month, reports suggested Apple would return to aluminum frames for this model. However, more recent leaks challenge this idea, claiming the Pro series will stick with titanium frames instead. If true, this would align with Apple’s push for premium materials in its flagship devices.

For now, all we can do is wait, knowing that more leaks like this will continue to surface. As the launch date approaches, these leaks are likely to become more accurate and reliable.
